Nero

This famous CD burning software has been available for Linux for several years now. While the open source CD burning software included with most distributions of Linux is very good, I prefer Nero.

Dropbox

Dropbox is a handy utility which enables you to easily move files from computer to computer, my creating a shared folder amongst multiple computers which is store in the cloud. (i.e. on the internet.) Dropbox itself is free and it gives you 2GB of space for free. If you want you can pay for more, you can.

Google Desktop

Google desktop allows you to quickly search through files stored on your computer. The Linux version of google desktop is a little different from the windows version in that it does not include gadgets, however you can install Google Gadgets for Linux separately.

Chromium

Chromium is the development version of Chrome, Google's web browser. It is currently very usable on Linux, in fact I vastly prefer it to Firefox.

This version of Chromium supports Chrome 4 extensions. See http://www.chromeextensions.org/ to get them.
